Unfortunately, there was a headwind of roughly 40mph driving across Wyoming which made driving my short-wheel-base 2-door Jeep Wrangler a handful.

There is a lot of public land surrounding the reservoir where we could camp. Our destination this first day would be the Woodruff Narrows Reservoir, north of Evanston, Wyoming. From there we decided to take US-287 up to Laramie where we would jump onto Interstate 80 heading west. We exited at East Prospect Road and stopped at the Poudre Rest Area. We departed on Saturday morning (April 10 th, 2021) driving up I-25 to Fort Collins. Marty wanted to go to the Bonneville Salt Flats, Troy was ready for anything and I hadn’t been there since I was too small to remember, so that was our furthest destination and we would weave our way back to Colorado after that. We thought about an overlanding trip, but needed to test out our setups, so we combined a road trip with an overlanding trip, made some plans and headed out. this April, two co-workers and I decided to head out on a road trip. It’s still snowy up where I’d go backpacking. It’s spring 2021! Ice fishing season is over.
